Beauty of the Jalon Valley
A landscape of ancient olive and almond
groves mixed with vineyards and handcrafted terraces. The Valley Les Murtes or
the myrtles, is named after the ceremonial plant that grows here abundantly. Together
with local fragrant pines, the morning air has a special freshness.
Little
more than 4km down the valley, the town of Jalon presides over an agricultural
heritage that dates back to Moorish Spain. The blue glazed terracotta dome of
the church sits high above the square, visible for miles around.
The peace
of the mountains is regal, but not far away is the temptation of the Costa Blanca
coast.
